About me
William Johnson Herahon is a graduate of the Occupational Therapy
Doctorate (OTD) at Western Michigan University (WMU) and holds a
Bachelor of Arts of Psychology from Hope College. (At the time of this
proposal, he is eligible for board certification and will be scheduled for his
exam in late summer 2027)
His doctoral capstone project focused on the creation, development and
implementation of a comprehensive Adaptive Fishing Program at the Center
for Disabilities Services at WMU. His work resulted in successful adaptive
recreation, accessibility, and meaningful leisure engagement for individuals
with disabilities. Throughout his capstone experience, he collaborated with
consumers and staff to develop structured fishing outings, adaptive
equipment solutions, educational workshops, and inclusive community-based
recreational opportunities. He is passionate about using occupational therapy
principles to support participation in meaningful outdoor activities and to
expand access to adaptive leisure programming for individuals of all abilities.
