Kimberly L. Trueheart, OTR/L
About me
Kimberly L. Trueheart, OTR/L is a licensed occupational therapist with more than 35 years of clinical experience spanning acute care, rehabilitation, and school-based practice. She is a member of the Michigan Occupational Therapy Association (MiOTA) and serves as the Lead OT Ancillary Staff member with the Detroit Public Schools Community District Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Department. In her current role, Kimberly collaborates with students, families, educators, and interdisciplinary teams across a variety of educational settings to support meaningful
participation and student success. She is an active member of her School-Based Evaluation Team (SBET), where she works collaboratively to analyze data and help guide educationally relevant service recommendations. Kimberly is also dedicated to developing the next generation of occupational therapists, serving as a fieldwork educator for Level I and Level II occupational therapy students. Most recently, she supervised her first Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) student from the inaugural graduating class at the University of Southern California. She is passionate about collaboration, mentorship, and advancing school-based occupational therapy practice.
