About me
Bethany Burge is a community-based Occupational Therapist specializing in interventions that facilitate wellness, whole-person care, and healthy aging-in-place. Over the last 13 years, Bethany has developed expertise and experience in evidence-based health promotion, falls prevention, environmental modifications, grant-writing, and program development. Working in non-profit, home health, and outpatient settings, Bethany has experience building strategic alliances with community partners to demonstrate the unique value of Occupational Therapy in non-traditional spaces. Bethany is Board Certified in Gerontology through the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), holds an Executive Certificate in Home Modifications from the University of Southern California’s Leonard Davis School of Gerontology, and various specialty certifications in stroke rehabilitation, lymphedema, substance misuse prevention, and non-profit management. Bethany currently volunteers as the Michigan Occupational Therapy Association (MiOTA) Liaison to the Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs OT Board, serves as the Co‐Chair of MiOTA’s Accessibility, Belonging, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Justice Committee, Liaison to the Michigan Falls Prevention Coalition, and as a member of MiOTA’s Advocacy, Elections, and Bylaws committees.
