About me
Bryan Warner, LMSW is a clinical social worker for Western Michigan University (WMU) FASTER Program and an Instructor at WMU School of Social Work. He has over 20 years’ experience working with children and families from diverse populations across multiple facets of the child welfare, juvenile justice, mental health, and school systems. Bryan has held multiple direct service positions with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and a Michigan County Family Court. Early in Bryan’s career, he interned at the Southwest Michigan Children’s Trauma Assessment Center (CTAC), where he was mentored and trained in the transdisciplinary approach to assessing children impacted by complex trauma. In particular, the critical role occupational therapists play in the assessment process and how that profession's knowledge can be merged with social work. Bryan has been guided by a commitment to advancing trauma-informed practices that foster resilience and well-being in kids. Bryan is currently a student in the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences PhD program at Western Michigan University. His research consists of the validation of the CTAC Trauma Screening Checklist and exploring the neurodevelopmental impact of complex trauma on children.
